Exhaust Backpressure Sensor Eliminator $44.99
Did you know that when you throw an Exhaust Pressure Sensor code, that your truck will defuel on top just like an overboost code? Yes it can and does happen. The exhaust backpressure sensor when a reading of 45PSI or more is achieved will store a code and remain in a 'defueled' mode until the next drive cycle. If your sensor is back or you have a really hot chip, this code can get thrown nearly every drive cycle. This costs you top end boost, and power since the truck isn't fueling as it should.
This new SP Diesel Exhaust Backpressure Sensor Eliminator ensures that your truck won't throw any of the codes associated with a bad sensor or high reading. the dongle incorporates circuitry to maintain a happy pressure reading on the sensor that stays constant.
The EBPS tells the Cold Weather Package when to kick out under driving conditions, at 30PSI. This means that you will need to disable the factory EBV operation. If you have an exhaust brake this is easily done, and just as easy without. if you have a modified turbo on a truck with CWP, then you just plug this dongle into the sensor.
A new EBPS will set you back $175 at the dealer parts counter. This item will eliminate the need permanently.
We recommend a pyrometer for this mod, but since you already have a modified truck most likely, you already have one. This way if the EBV were to stick closed, you would be able to know your EGTs were climbing before any potential damage.
If you have any questions please email us. This item is currently available only through SP Diesels and not distributors yet, as it's a brand new item. Dealers that are interested in carrying this item will have availability immediately.
As always, it carrys the money back guarantee. If it doesn't work as advertised, you may return it for a refund within 30 days.
The Sensor dongle simply slips on to the PCM wiring from the EBPS. Zip tie it up and you are ready for your test ride.
REMEMBER, after installing your EBPS, disconnect the PCM fuse (#15 on the dash panel) or unhook your batteries for 30 mins to clear the PCM of the code. Then go ride!
Dongle Installed, yep it's that easy!
